Agreement - The act or fact of having the same opinion or an understanding

Covenant means an agreement, usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement, between two or more persons to do or not do something specified. It may refer to a promise to engage in or refrain from a specified action. It is binding agreement; a compact, a formal sealed agreement or contract. God made several covenants with His chosen leaders, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, which established His relationship with each of them. When the believer understands the covenant God made with the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), he learns how God wants him to live in covenantal relationship with Him.

Sometimes a simple prayer or intercessory prayer is not enough to move God.

Why? - A covenant prayer is a profound call to God, a prayer that goes beyond the ordinary request to God.

Sometimes it becomes necessary to enter into a covenant with God and sometimes the believer needs something that is binding, something they cannot break.

Many times the believer is afraid to make commitment to settle their spirit and become subject to the Spirit of the Almighty God. They do not realize that God's covenant gives them the privilege to ask for God's help and they have no need to be afraid to approach God. The problem comes when you see God as someone frightening, some judgmental, or someone waiting to pounce upon you the first time you make a mistake. Sometimes believers fear commitment because it means responsibility, and they don't want responsibility. If a believer really wants to be free in God, they must use discipline and commitment.

Why do believers fear commitment and fail to subject themselves to God?

  1. Responsibility
  2. Accountability
  3. Consequences
  4. Lack of understanding
  5. Fear
  • of failure
  • natural fear
  • losing out

Some people don't want responsibility because it requires something from you.

Psalms 37:3-7 tell us to:

  1. Trust in the Lord
  2. Delight thyself in the Lord
  3. Commit thy way unto the Lord
  4. Rest in Lord

Sometimes the Lord wants us to commit to making personal covenant prayers for our:

  1. Homes
  2. Relationship
  3. Communities

What the components of the prayer of agreement?

  1. Oneness
  2. Unity
  3. On one accord
  4. Same mind
  5. Same vision
  6. Be clear about what you want

A prayer of agreement is circle.

You're locked in and nothing can break it.

Make sure you are in the right attitude and place.

There is authority and power in the prayer of agreement. When believers join together in prayer, their prayers generate authority and power.

When the entire church prays in faith/agreement, we can release enough power to shake and transform the whole community.

Prayer of agreement changes the Spiritual climate.
